Theresienstadt-Bauschowitz railway station

Theresienstadt was considered by many to be an transfer camp on the way to Maly Trascianec. The Theresienstadt-Bausschwitz / Bohušovice railway station was the arrival and deportation station from Theresienstadt until June 1943. It was more than two kilometers from the camp, and the arrivals had to walk the distance. The infirm were loaded onto trucks.

To facilitate logistics, another track leading directly to the 'Jewish ghetto' was used from 1 June 1943. From that point on, the deportations began from the newly built connection station directly at the Theresienstadt concentration camp in order to attract as little attention as possible from the civilian population.
